Product description
This type of basket helmet developed from the nasal helmet during the second half of the 12th century. The basket helmet provided full-face protection, with the visor featuring eye slits and ventilation holes. These helmets were typically worn in combination with a chainmail hauberk and chainmail coif.
Helmets of this kind remained in use until the first half of the 13th century. They were worn by knights and heavy infantry across Europe, including during the Crusades.
This replica is made after an original from approx. 1180 and is battle-ready. It can be fastened with a leather chin strap and has a leather inlay for wearing comfort.
The bucket helmet is available in two sizes:
The size M is available for a head circumference up to 62 cm and weighs 3 kg.
The size L is available for a head circumference up to 64 cm.
