Product description

This massive Celtic torque is based on historical originals. Crafted with traditional techniques, its 9 mm thick body radiates strength and elegance. Suitable for both men and women with a strong neck, this torqueis perfect for Celtic reenactment. With a proud weight of approximately 161 grams, an inner diameter of 14 cm, and an inner circumference of 38 cm (measured without the opening), this torque is eye-striking.

The heads of the torque are adorned with double-spiral motifs, made after La Tene art motifs. Measuring 2.5 cm long, 1.4 cm high, and 1.8 cm deep, they add to the striking design of the piece.

In Celtic culture, the torque held great symbolic and ritual importance. It was worn by warriors and leaders as a mark of prestige, courage, divine favor and was associated with oaths. In Celtic mythology, gods and goddesses are sometimes depicted with torques, such as the god Cernunnos, who in various images wears a torque around his neck, while others hang from his antlers or are held in his hand, as seen on the Gundestrup Cauldron. Torques were not just accessories but carried profound significance as symbols of status and strength. The larger and heavier the torque, the greater the wearer’s standing and contribution to society. This impressive piece is a testament to respect, trust, and love, making it a meaningful gift.s.
