Product description

This sword is based on an original from the 10th century. The original was found in Denmark. The sword is classified as Petersen type S and closely resembles the Chertsey sword, which was discovered in the London area, England. Petersen categorized a total of 22 Viking swords as type S, making swords of this type, alongside Oakeshott type X, among the most commonly found originals. The original sword had the inscription +ULFBERH+T engraved on the blade, the mark of the famous Frankish sword maker. Today, the original is part of the collection at the National Museum (Nationalmuseet) in Copenhagen.

This sword comes with a wooden scabbard wrapped in leather. The scabbard features a belt loop and a scabbard tip.
