The sword is classified as Petersen type S and closely resembles the Chertsey sword, which was discovered in the London area, England. Petersen categorized a total of 22 Viking swords as type S, making swords of this type, alongside Oakeshott type X, among the most commonly found originals. The original sword had the inscription +ULFBERH+T engraved on the blade, the mark of the famous Frankish sword maker. Today, the original is part of the collection at the National Museum (Nationalmuseet) in Copenhagen.
