Product description

This helmet is based on several early medieval originals. Spangen helmets like this were worn throughout Europe between the 5th and 11th centuries. Helmets like this originally consisted of several parts, which were held together with straps. This helmet has a helmet bowl that is made in one piece for extra strength. The nose piece is extra reinforced and is 2 mm thick. The rest of the helmet is 1.6 mm thick. In the 11th century, the spangenhelm was succeeded by the nose helmet, which consisted of one part and offered much more safety. The maximum inner circumference is 70 cm, excluding helmet insert. This helmet is equipped with an inlay and chin strap. If you want to wear extra padding, measure your head circumference while wearing it. The padded liner already attached to the inside of the helmet is usually sufficient. To create more space in the helmet, the helmet insert can be removed.
