This jewel is a replica of a 6th-7th century Merovingian original excavated in Faversham, Kent (England). This handmade jewel is made of enamel. The original is nowadays part of the collection of the British Museum in London. Jewels like this were mainly worn between the 6th and 8th century by the Frankish tribes like the Merovingians but also by the Anglo-Saxons.
