This sword is made after original Oakeshott type XI swords that were forged between 1100 and 1175. The cross-guard of this type is often straight with a round pommel. Originals can also be seen on the Bayeux tapestry, in the Morgan Picture Bible and on the doors of the church of st. Veno in Verona, Italy.
This high quality sword is forged from carbon steel with a hardness of 50-55 HRC and has a sharp edge. It is delivered including a black leather scabbard with metal fittings.
