Product description
The great bascinet was developed from the early 15th century. Its main advantage over the traditional bascinet is that it is equipped with a neck guard, providing extra protection for the neck, although an aventail (camail) was not always necessary. Bascinets like this offered extensive protection and were used both on the battlefield and in jousting.
This bascinet consists of three parts: the helmet, the visor, and the chin guard. Both the visor and chin guard are movable. The helmet features a textile liner for comfort. It is made from 2 mm thick steel and is available in size L (suitable for a head circumference of 63–64 cm).
