Product description
This Gaelic brooch is a replica of a 9th century Irish original excavated in Ballyspellan near Kilkenny. Brooches like this were worn in all shapes and sizes by the Gaelic people of Ireland and Scotland. Sometimes the pins were so extraordinarily long that the Old Irish laws decided that a person who accidentally injured someone else with the pin of his brooch, should pay a fine.
