Product description

This sallet is based on an original from around 1480 AD, made in Nuremberg. Nuremberg was renowned for its high-quality steel plate, which was exported throughout Europe. This type of sallet was typically combined with other pieces of armour, as seen with a similar example that is part of the collection of the National Museum in Vienna.

Combining the Sallet and Bevor

The sallet can be worn in several ways when combined with a bevor:

  1. Upright on the head, with visor and bevor open:
Provides optimal visibility and breathing room.

  2. Upright on the head, with visor open and bevor closed:
Offers good visibility and protection for the lower face.

  3. Upright on the head, with visor closed and bevor open:
    Provides maximum protection.

  4. Tilted on the head, with visor closed and bevor open:
Ensures a wide field of vision and good airflow.

  5. Tilted on the head, with visor closed and bevor closed:
Offers both a broad field of vision and solid protection.

This sallet is made of 2 mm thick steel, features an internal liner, and weighs approximately 2.6 kg. The flexible neck guard allows for excellent freedom of movement.

The sallet is available in sizes M (maximum head circumference 61 cm) and L (maximum head circumference 64 cm). The overall weight is approximately 3.7 kg.
