Product description

This replica sword is made after several historical Roman swords of the type Mainz, excavated in Pompeii and other Roman archeological sites. The gladius, or Roman sword, was the beloved weapon of the Roman legionaries. With the gladius, large parts of the world were conquered for the Roman Empire. The Gladius Mainz has a long tip that optimally combined cutting and stabbing in 1 weapon. This gladius has a faux ivory grip with a pommel and hilt. It is delivered including a luxury leather scabbard with brass fittings featuring palmettes in the Roman art style and belt loops. The semi-sharp blade is forged from 1065 carbon steel and tempered to a hardness of 48-52 HRC. You can wear it with your Roman costume during living history or reenactment and it is perfect as a decorative sword for collectors. When you blunten the blade, you can use it as a battle-ready sword for sword fighting and sword training.
