This gladius is based on various historical originals. The gladius is of the Pompeii type, one of the later types of gladii also found in the city of Pompeii.
The sword is 72 cm long with a blade measuring 50 cm. It comes with a scabbard. The grip is made of wood.
Ovid was a Roman poet who lived from 43 BC to 17 AD. He was the first Roman writer to compose an epic. In 8 AD, he was exiled by Emperor Augustus to the city of Tomi in Romania for reasons that remain unclear.
