Product description
The one-and-a-half sword is a sword that had a size between a single-handed sword and a two-handed sword. It could be used with one hand, but you could also put a second hand on top of the grip and partly on the pommel for extra power behind a thrust.
This sword is a replica of an Oakeshott type XVII. This type of sword was popular from around 1355 to 1425. During this period the number of foot soldiers and archers in armies increased. The elite heavily armored knights wore supplements as extra protection against foot soldiers and archers. As a result, the swords that were made during this period were designed for thrusting between the armor plates. During this period, weapons such as the warhammer and the mace were also put into use, which were weapons that could severely damage armor.
This sword is made from a high quality carbon steel with a hardness of 50-55 HRC. It has a black leather grip and a sharp blade and tip. It is supplied including a black scabbard with steel fittings.
