Product description

This well-known sabre has a mortuary hilt that protects the hand. Swords like this were used all over the British Isles during the 17th centuries. The hilts were made in Great Britain while the blades where mostly imported from Germany. This is the weapon of cavalrymen during the British Civil War. Later on this type of sword developed through to the well-known basket hilt broadsword & backsword.

Hanwei designed this replica for re-enactment. The sword is battle-ready and has a 3 mm thick blade. The blade is made of 1065 carbon steel with a hardness of 50 HRC. This sword is 94 cm long with a blade of 775 cm and it weighs 907 grams.
