Discs such as this were used between the 12th and 16th century in linen quivers. The arrows can be placed in the discs, so that they would not tangle and could be pulled out easily. The linen was somewhat longer than the end of the arrows, so that the bag could be closed to protect the arrows against rain.
This spacer is a replica of an original found on the Mary Rose, the flag ship of Tudor King Henry VIII. Similar discs were used by the Welsh longbowmen at the battles of Crécy & Azincourt.
The discs offers space for 25 arrows and can be fastened easily to the quiver. The leather is 3 mm thick and the openings have a diameter of 10 mm.
