Product description

This helmet is based on a bascinet model from the first half of the 15th century.

The great bascinet emerged at the beginning of the 15th century. Its main advantage over the traditional bascinet is that it features a neck guard providing extra protection, making a chainmail collar (camail) not always necessary. Bascinets like this offered excellent protection and were used both on the battlefield and in jousting.

The helmet bowl is made of 2 mm thick steel, while the visor and other parts are 1.6 mm thick. It comes with a leather chin strap and a textile liner, suitable for a maximum head circumference of 64 cm.
