A beautiful rapier by Windlass Steelcraft based on an original rapier in the collection of the Royal Armories in London. One of the most beautiful rapiers in the world! This rapier has a flamboyant basket that is richly decorated with birds and plant motifs. This strong basket protects the hand during sword fighting or fencing and the cross-guard blocks the opponent's rapier. The heavy pommel provides a good balance. The grip is wrapped with braided steel wire. The blade is etched on both sides with the text: CHRISTUS IMPERAT. Which means: Christ commands. This rapier is delivered including a leather scabbard. The semi-sharp tempered blade is forged from 1065 carbon steel and has a hardness of 48-52 HRC. A beautiful sword for on the wall, also perfect for 17th century reenactment and Three Musketeers Cosplay.
