Product description

A beautiful Roman sword from Windlass Steelcrafts, a replica sword based on historical swords from the Roman era. Gladii like these were used around the 1st century BC, and this Roman sword is of the Mainz type.

The Roman gladius was the best weapon for close combat in the Roman army, being light and efficient. The gladius is the weapon with which the Roman Empire was founded. This gladius has a short point compared to other Roman swords and features a grip made of ash and maple wood. It comes with a leather scabbard with belt loops. The semi-sharp blade is forged from tempered 1065 carbon steel with a hardness of 48-52 HRC.

A great decorative sword for the wall, it also looks fantastic as part of a living history, reenactment, or cosplay outfit from shows like Rome. When you blunt the blade, it becomes an excellent battle-ready sword for sword fighting in reenactment battles.
