Product description

The scutum was a shield that was used by Roman soldiers. The republican scutum had an oval shape, in later times the shape became rectangular. The scuta were often curved in order to intercept blows.

This is a replica of the shield that was used while conquering large parts of the world. It is made of wood and covered with linen. Its length is 122,5 cm and its width is 65 cm. It weighs approx. 6 kg.
