Product description
This scutum is a replica of a late Roman shield from the 3th century AD. The original was found in Dura Europos (Syria).
The Roman scuta provided soldiers with an excellent protection and it enabled the testudoformation (turtle formation).
The shield is made of several layers of wood and is covered with dyed linen. Its length is 108 cm and its width is 72 cm. It weighs about 6 kg.
