Product description
The Sallet helmet, or sallet, is a development of the bascinet. It was the ideal helmet for medieval archers and infantry. Sallets like this were worn all over Europe and were very popular because they offered excellent visibility and hearing. This type of sallet first appeared between 1370 and 1390 in Northern Italy. In the first half of the 15th century, the sallet became very popular in Italy, France, and England.
Thanks to its neck guard, this sallet provides protection for both the head and the neck. This was especially useful against incoming arrows or stones during sieges. A beautiful helmet for medieval reenactment or LARP.
