This seax is a replica of a 8th-9th century piece found in Roermond (The Netherlands). It's a unusual long scramaseax probably of Saxon origine.

Seaxes like this were popular around 650 among the Franks, Saxons and Scandinavian people. This seax is battle-ready with a blunt blade and a rounded point. The wooden handle parts are screwed to the blade. The included scabbard is made of brown leather and has two belt loops.

The scramaseax has a length of 48,5 cm with a blade of 35 cm and a max. width of 3 cm. The blade is made of 9260 carbon steel.
