This set consists of a steel spear tip and brass butt cap to make your own Greek dory. The hoplites from the 2nd and 3rd century BC. used the dory, or the one-handed spear. The spear consisted of a shaft 2 to 3 meters long, a spear tip and a butt cap (sauroter). The shaft cap was useful for inserting the spear into the ground, for counterbalance, and in case the shaft broke off it could be used as a spare spear. Both the spear tip and the butt cap have pre-drilled holes. Shafts and other accessories are available separately.
