Product description
This medieval helmet (Sugar Loaf helm) is based on 14th-century originals. Great helms like this became particularly popular from the early 14th century onward. The helmet features a conical shape that helps to deflect blows to the head. This type represents the peak of the development of the great helm, or pot helm.
The original helmets were equipped with a hinged visor, but this replica unfortunately does not include that feature. The helmet provides full protection for the head and face. It has ventilation holes and a cotton liner to allow for comfortable breathing and to absorb sweat. The helmet can be securely fastened under the chin with a leather chin strap.
