Product description
At the beginning of the 14th century, great helmets became more conical in shape. This design helped deflect blows and thrusts from lances away from the head, so that the impact would not strike directly. This type of helmet is also known as the “sugar loaf” due to its shape. In Spanish, it is called the Helmet of Zaragoza, as it was first introduced there on the Iberian Peninsula. Helmets like this remained in use throughout Europe until the end of the 14th century.
This helmet comes with a liner and chin strap. If you wish to wear extra padded cushioning, measure your head circumference while wearing it. The padded lining already attached inside the helmet is usually sufficient. To create more space inside the helmet, the liner can be removed.
