Product description
Great helms like this became especially popular from the beginning of the 14th century. The helmet has a conical shape that helps deflect blows away from the head. This type of helmet represents the peak in the development of large helmets, or pot helms. In the Middle Ages, conical helmets were called “sugarloaf” helmets because their shape resembled a loaf of sugar.
This helmet is distinguished by its hinged visor. It is hand-crafted from 1.6 mm thick steel. The helmet can be easily adjusted to fit using its linen liner and also features a chin strap. It is suitable for a head circumference of approximately 61 cm. From ear to ear, the helmet measures about 19 cm, and from the middle of the back of the head to the middle of the forehead, it measures 22.5 cm. The weight is approximately 2.9 kg.
