Product description
This type of great helm emerged around the mid-13th century. The advantage of this development was that the great helm now provided protection not only for the head but also for parts of the neck. This type of helm was cylindrical with a flat top and was worn by European knights until the early 14th century.
This helmet is based on an illustration of the Knights Templar. The poor knights of Christ were founded to protect pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land. The Templars developed into one of the most formidable fighting forces of the Middle Ages. Their motto was: Non nobis, Domine, non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam (“Not to us, Lord, not to us, but to Your name give glory”).
This helmet is suitable for a maximum head circumference of 63 cm and is made from 1.3 mm thick steel.
