Product description

New from Red Dragon (known for their high quality HEMA plastic training swords) is this line of high quality replica historical swords. These swords are delivered including a leather scabbard with belt and are made of high quality steel and hardness so that they are suitable for intensive training.

This sword is a replica of a sword found in the River Thames in London, opposite Temple Church. This is the headquarters of the Knights Templar in England. The sword was presumably forged in the early fourteenth century. In the Middle Ages, this church had a larger garden that continued all the way to the banks of the Thames. It is believed that the sword was thrown into the river when Edward II dissolved the Templar Order in 1314.
This large hand-and-a-half sword of the Oakeshott type XII has a wooden core scabbard wrapped in brown leather with a leather strap and a brown leather grip. The scabbard and the Oakeshott type K pommel are decorated with a cross motif. The edge is 1.5 mm thick. Additionally, the blade is tempered and made of 1075 carbon steel. It has a core with a steel hardness of 45 HRC and the edge has a hardness of 50 HRC. Due to the two different hardnesses, the sword is flexible and less brittle than comparable models. This sword is a combination of excellent craftsmanship and years of HEMA experience.
