This saber is a replica of the 19th-century originals used by cavalry soldiers on the Northern States' (Union) side during the American Civil War (1861-1865). This saber has a brass guard and a wooden grip wrapped in black leather and wire. The blade is beautifully engraved with 'U.S.' and 19th-century motifs. A beautiful replica for enthusiasts of the American Civil War.
