Product description

This fully wearable Viking helmet with visor and short nose guard is a reconstruction of a helmet found in a burial mound at Gjermundbu farm in Ringerike municipality, Norway. This Viking helmet dates from the 9th/10th century, but the general appearance, especially the strips or bands running around the lower edge, from front to back and from ear to ear (called Spangen in German), as well as the visor (a protective plate resembling a pair of spectacles), clearly show its close relationship to the camouflaged helmets of the Vendel period, which preceded the Viking Age.

This replica is made with a unique hand-forged finish. It has a leather inlay to adjust the helmet to your size. It also has an aventail with unriveted round rings.
