The beautiful Viking shield that we offer here is made of approximately 13 mm thick plywood and decorated with a hand-painted Norse dragon or greif animal, a motif that often appears in Viking art. It could also be the image of the so-called Midgard Serpent. An umbo is mounted in the center of the shield, securely attached with four rivets. The back of the shield is painted black and has a sturdy wooden handle. Although this wooden shield is a bit too light and thin for full contact sword fighting, it remains a great accessory for reenactment, LARP, stage or television/film. Moreover, it is also a beautiful collection or exhibition piece and a decorative object for all lovers of history and Vikings.Product details
