Product description

New from Red Dragon (known for their high-quality HEMA plastic training swords) is this line of high-level replica historical swords. These swords come with a leather scabbard and are made from high-quality steel and hardness.

This sword is based on original Oakeshott type X swords. The Oakeshott type X sword was a transitional model from the early medieval period, evolving from Viking-age swords. One of the most famous examples of the type X is the so-called "Ulfberht swords," known for their exceptional quality. It is believed that these swords were produced by one of the earliest sword makers who used his name as a brand, a tradition that continued long after the founder’s death. This replica features a typical Ulfberht design, though the name is intentionally not depicted on the blade.

This sword has a wooden scabbard wrapped in brown leather and a brown leather grip. The edge is 1 mm thick. The blade is tempered and made from EN42J spring steel. It has a core hardness of 45 HRC and an edge hardness of 50 HRC. Due to the two different hardness levels, the sword is flexible and less brittle than comparable models. This sword is a combination of excellent craftsmanship and years of HEMA experience.
