Product description

The historical weaving method, also known as herringbone motif, has been used for centuries, even in the present era. During the early Middle Ages it was used by various people all over Europe, such as the Merovingians, Vikings and Germanic people. Textile fragments of herringbone motif fabric have been excavated in various Viking towns, such as Jorvik, Hedeby, Birka and Oseberg. These trousers are completely made in a herringbone pattern fabric and therefore have a very historically correct appearance. An asset for early medieval re-enactors.

Viking pants such as these were worn from around the seventh to the eleventh centuries. This model has short legs. You can wear leg wrappings below the knees, as in the photo. By using a contrasting color of leg wrappings you can adjust the trousers to your own wishes. For an extra beautiful effect, combine the trousers with other herringbone motif garments from our assortment.
