This replica is made after the sword of the English knight Sir William Marshall, earl of Pembroke. He lived between 1146 and 1219. This sword is a light, well-balanced type XIa which primarily functioned as a cavalry weapon. The blade is made of carbon steel with a hardness of 52-54 HRC. It has a length of 101 cm, with a blade of 84 cm and it weighs approx. 1 kg. The blade is sharp. The point of balance is situated approx. 20 cm below the cross-guard, the advantage is that more force can be put in the sword`s blows.

This sword is an Oakeshott type Xa.
