Medieval and fantasy festivals are becoming increasingly popular, and the number of festivals and events is also growing, both in the Netherlands and in other countries. A festival in your own country is of course always convenient. You can travel there easily, and if you want to stay for multiple days and the festival is a bit further away, an overnight stay is quickly arranged.
Festivals abroad might be a bit more challenging to attend, but you can certainly combine them with a vacation in the respective country to make the most of your trip. Depending on the location, you could take a road trip or a city trip if a major city is near the festival.
