Product description

This sword is modeled after the example found in Dybek. Many early medieval swords, like this one, were richly decorated with organic and stylized knot motifs.

It measures 106 cm in length and features a blade made of 420 stainless steel, 50 HRC. The pommel and crossguard are made of brass, and the hardwood grip is wrapped in black leather.

This sword is classified as Petersen Type Z.

Dragons were the mythical counterparts of snakes and appeared in the earliest myths of modern humans. As humans spread across the globe, dragon mythology migrated with them. Among many Indo-European peoples, dragons play a prominent role in their mythologies. In Germanic and later Viking mythology, dragons are seen as all-destroying monsters. At the same time, they symbolize the evil beast that must be defeated by a hero. These two archetypes—the destroyer and the hero’s adversary—reinforce each other.
