Product description

The xiphos, like this one, was used throughout the Hellenistic world and beyond. Until the Roman Republic adopted the tradition of Iberian swords after the Second Punic War, the xiphos was the primary type of sword used by Roman troops, such as the principes, triarii, and hastati. This type of xiphos is more modern than the xiphos with a leaf-shaped blade. This replica features a spring steel blade. In the middle of the blade, there is a pronounced bulge, which is characteristic of classical weapons from this period and of this type. The entire grip is cast from brass and polished to a high shine. It comes with a scabbard with lion head decorations.
