Product description

This Lakonian short sword is a detailed replica inspired by the design from The Spartan Army. The Spartans, renowned for their unparalleled toughness and discipline, trained to be the ultimate warriors. This powerful weapon was perfectly suited for the harsh realities of ancient hand-to-hand combat. The blade features a distinctive leaf shape and is forged from high-carbon steel, while the grip is crafted from bronze for strength and reliability. The scabbard is made of wood and wrapped in leather for a traditional finish.

The Spartans preferred a shorter type of xiphos compared to what was commonly used in the rest of the Greek world. This shorter type was ideal for use as a thrusting weapon between the shield walls that formed when the hoplites of two phalanx formations engaged in battle.
