This replica sword is based on historical originals. It is classified as an early Oakeshott Type X, a type of sword that was made in the first half of the 10th century.
The Vikings highly regarded strength and power, in the early Middle Ages the Vikings plundered monasteries and other places of wealth like Lindisfarne. At the same time, the Vikings were also farmers, especially opportunists who had to live in difficult and cold areas and were always looking for better places to live. The ninth century was also the century in which Danish Vikings sought their luck in England. This sword has a beautiful segmented grip with brown leather, a typical Viking pommel and a cross-guard with knot motifs from the Viking art. The semi-sharp blade is forged from 1065 carbon steel and tempered with a hardness of 48-52 HRC.
